Position: Instructional Aide (Elementary and Extended Care)
Pay: $18.00/hour | Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | Location: San Diego, CA
As Nazareth School – San Diego’s Instructional Aide, you will help create an engaging, nurturing, and supportive learning environment that fosters students’ academic, social, and spiritual growth. You’ll work closely with classroom teachers during the school day and support Extended Care in the afternoon, supervising students and modeling Catholic values throughout the day.
What You’ll Do as an Instructional Aide
Support classroom teachers with instructional tasks such as supervising students, assisting with classwork, and helping monitor homework and assessments.
Facilitate small-group activities and provide individual support to students as directed by the teacher.
Supervise students during recess, lunch, transitions, and Extended Care to ensure safety and positive behavior.
Assist with daily routines such as hot lunch distribution, Extended Care checkin/checkout, snack distribution, and communication with parents.
Provide basic technology support in the classroom and Extended Care as needed.
Attend staff or support meetings as needed and communicate student concerns to the classroom teacher or Principal.
What You’ll Need to Succeed as an Instructional Aide
Experience working with schoolage children (preferred but not required).
Strong organizational and communication skills.
A collaborative, proactive attitude and willingness to support teachers, staff, and Extended Care programming as needs arise.
Commitment to creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for students in a Catholic school setting.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
