About the Family

A warm, capable, and trustworthy full-time live-in Personal Household Assistant & Companion is needed to support a principal in her quiet, well-organized four-story townhouse in Park Ridge, NJ. It is a combination role with the priority being on providing household assistance to the principal and less companionship, as the principal is very independent, but there is an element of companionship.

The principal is sharp, active, and fully in charge of her home and daily life. This role is not a traditional caregiving position—rather, it is best suited for someone who takes pride in supporting a highly capable individual by managing household and personal assistant responsibilities on her terms.

Home Size: Approx. 4,200 Sq. Ft.

Household Staff: Housekeeper comes twice a week

Ideal Candidate & Personality

The ideal candidate is smart, dependable, an excellent cook, and a confident, safe driver with a clean driving record. The role requires someone calm, patient, respectful, and able to maintain a comfortable rhythm within a structured, peaceful home.

The principal is highly independent, and it is essential that the Household Assistant/Companion respect her routines, preferences, and personal boundaries. This individual will report directly to the principal, take direction from her, and support her in a way that aligns with her established lifestyle. Any questions or proposed changes should always be discussed with the principal first.

The right candidate will take genuine pride in supporting an independent employer, and be comfortable—enthusiastically comfortable—working within that dynamic.

  • Respect for Autonomy: A genuine appreciation for supporting someone who is self-directed and independent
